Your Data

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requires that companies such as Optimise Finance who process and retain information about their customers inform them as to how their information will be used and for what purpose. At Optimise Finance, we will only collect the data we need to assess if we can assist you obtaining finance and take all reasonable steps to maintain the security of your data. However, it is important to point out if you do not provide the information we request, we will be unable to assist you in obtaining finance. Optimise Finance is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA www.fca.org.uk),which means we are accountable for the products and services we provide, therefore required to keep records of transactions with customers for a minimum of 6yrs .We process your data on the basis of ``processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation`` as set out by the Information Commissioner`s Office (ICO www.ico.org.uk).

 
 

How We Use Your Personal Data

Optimise Finance makes a pledge to all our customers to uphold the strictest levels of privacy. We will collect personal and financial information from you in order to locate the best lender for your unique personal situation. With your permission we also access data held at Credit Reference Agencies the main credit agencies are:

All lending companies use one or more of these agencies. Credit reference agencies keep a wide range of information. This includes information from the electoral roll (sometimes known as the voters roll) and records of most county court judgements and bankruptcies. They also retain information relating to previous and existing credit and a record of searches made against the file. The lenders share information through the agencies providing a history of how punctually payments are being made or have been made. Loan information is usually held on file for 6 years. Details of the voters roll may be held for much longer. Information about credit searches is kept for up to two years.

 
 

Your Rights

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) also gives customers significant rights as to how their data is used in summary:

Optimise Finance with your permission may pass your data to other organisations, please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy policies of other company`s or their websites. Credit Searches

You will not have a credit search carried out by enquiring to us until you have spoken to us and have given your consent to do so. At that point only Optimise Finance and or their selected lenders may make searches about you at recognised credit reference agencies who supply credit account information; we may also obtain information from the Electoral Register and Land Registry. The credit agencies will record details of the search whether or not your application proceeds. Lenders may use credit scoring to assess your application and confirm your identity. The information provided to us by credit reference agencies about you and those with whom you are linked financially, may be used by us and other companies to assess your application. To prevent or detect fraud, and to assist in proving your identity, our lenders may make searches at fraud prevention agencies who will supply them with information. They may pass this information to other organisations involved in fraud prevention to protect them, ourselves and our customers from theft and fraud. If you give us misleading or inaccurate information and we suspect fraud, we will record this. By stating a financial association with another party, you are also declaring that you are entitled to disclose information about your joint applicant and anyone else referred to by you and therefore authorise us to search, and record information at credit reference agencies about you and anyone else referred to by you.

 
 

Application Process And How We Use Customer Information

When you apply for a loan with Optimise Finance, we need to obtain information relating to your name, address, telephone, employment and mortgage details. Where the application is a joint one we require the same information for this person. This information allows us to establish the best type of loan for your circumstances from our panel of lenders. Certain approved suppliers who support our business may see your data in the course of carrying out their duties to us. They will only use this for basic analytical or technical testing purposes. We never disclose information about a customer to any other person or organisation without your consent unless we are legally required to do so. Optimise Finance may provide aggregate statistics about our customers, applications, traffic patterns and related site information to reputable third-party vendors, but these statistics will contain no personally identifying information.

Fees and Disclosures

Secured loans are secured on property. Think carefully before securing other debts against your home. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage or any other debt secured on it. Optimise Finance may receive a commission from the lenders your business is placed with. A fee of up to 12.5% may be charged for sourcing, processing, arranging and advising on secured loans.

How to give feedback or make a complaint

We all make mistakes and if we do get something wrong we want to know about it so we can put it right. We treat all complaints very seriously and promise to deal with them fairly and promptly, and in many cases we will resolve them straight away. Optimise Finance will try to resolve any complaint with you. However if you are unhappy with our final response or we are unable to issue our final response within 8 weeks of receiving your complaint you can refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
